Global tobacco sales are set to increase to nearly $13 billion by 2026 from $12 billion in 2021, at an average growth rate of 1.2% year-on-year. Since 1995, the global market has risen by almost 3.5%. In 2021, the US took the lead in terms of tobacco revenue at $32.5 billion. Indonesia, the Philippines and Poland ranked second, third and fourth respectively. Ecuador saw a 22.8% year-on-year increase, while Croatia experienced a 22.4% decrease since 1995. Global tobacco production is forecasted to reach 6.35 million metric tons by 2026, down 0.4% year-on-year on average from 6.49 million in 2021. Since 1966, global supply has grown by a modest 0.3% year-on-year. China was the largest producer in 2021, with 2.45 million metric tons. India, Brazil and Zimbabwe ranked second, third and fourth respectively. Benin saw a 45.9% year-on-year increase, while Belgium declined by 50.4% since 1966.
