Revenue from European accommodation services is expected to reach €231 billion by 2026, up from €210 billion in 2021. On average, this equates to a 1% year-on-year growth rate since 2016. Germany was the highest-earning country in 2021, with €22 billion in accommodation services revenue. France, the UK and Spain came in second, third and fourth respectively. Meanwhile, Bosnia and Herzegovina saw a 3.7% year-on-year increase since 2016, while Cyprus saw a 13.6% decrease. European accommodation expenditure, meanwhile, is projected to reach €120 billion by 2026, down from €107 billion in 2021. On average, this equates to a 0.3% year-on-year decrease since 2016. The UK was the highest-spending country in 2021, with €27 billion. Italy, France and Germany followed in second, third and fourth places. Macedonia saw a 6% year-on-year increase since 2016, while Cyprus experienced a 14.6% decrease.
