The global export of glass is forecast to reach around $75 billion by 2026, up from $73 billion in 2021. This would represent an average annual growth of 0.7 percent since 2017. China is the leading exporter, at $18.5 billion in 2021, followed by Germany, the United States and France. Azerbaijan saw the biggest jump in exports, with a 46.3 percent year-on-year increase, while Gambia saw the largest decline, at 43.9 percent. Meanwhile, global imports of glass are predicted to reach $79 billion by 2026, up from $76 billion in 2021. This would equate to an average annual growth of 0.8 percent since 2017. The United States is the top importer, with $9.2 billion in 2021, followed by China, Germany and France. Gambia experienced the biggest increase in imports, of 19.2 percent year-on-year, while Nigeria saw the largest decline, at 16.4 percent.
