British air passenger traffic is projected to climb to roughly 165 million by 2028, rising from approximately 151 million in 2023. This marks an annual growth rate of 1.4%. Since 1975, however, the demand for air travel in Britain has experienced a decline of 1.8% annually. Despite this, the United Kingdom held the fifth spot in global air passenger traffic in 2023. Ireland surpassed the UK with an identical figure of around 151 million passengers. Meanwhile, China and India secured the second and third positions, respectively, with Ireland ranking fourth in this global comparison.
