Import of yarn of synthetic staple fibres packaged for retail sale to Latvia falls in 2017

According to numbers published by European Commission, yarn import declined by 18.72 percent in comparison with the prior year. The indicator decreased from 368 630 Euro to 299 640 Euro, in comparison to the previous year when it rose by 45.89 percent. Latvia saw an increase of 121.5% in yarn import during the last 10 years. Still it has had a negative average annual growth rate of 0.07 percent during the last 5 years with a modest overall rise since the start of time series. It averaged 301 612 Euro from 2008 to 2017 and it attained its all-time high of 437 720 Euro in 2013 and record low of 135 280 Euro in 2008.
