Gas and diesel refinery output in Japan: Decrease in May 2018

According to statistics published by JODI Data, gas and diesel oil production declined by 6.86 percent in comparison to the previous month. Gas and diesel oil production diminished from 3 613 thousand tonnes to 3 365 thousand tonnes, as it follows the tendency of the prior month when it dropped by 7.57 percent. May 2017, the variable decreased by -4.71% and attained 3 483 thousand tonnes. To sum up, the indicator was -3.39% lower in May 2017 than in the same month in 2018. Japan saw a drop of 33.29% in gas and diesel oil production during the last 16 years. Compared with its average, the gas and diesel oil production is now smaller as the mean equals 4 262.41 thousand tonnes with a negligible overall decline since the start of observations. It reached its all-time high of 5 447 thousand tonnes in December 2003 and record low of 3 321 thousand tonnes in June 2014.
