No. 2 and all other bundles consumption of purchased and home scrap at manufacturers of pig iron and raw steel and castings in United States: Fall in 2014

According to updated statistics issued by U.S. Geological Survey, iron and steel consumption diminished by 9.56 percent compared with the year before. Iron and steel consumption dropped from 983 thousand tonnes in 2013 to 889 thousand tonnes previous year, as it follows the tendency of the prior year when it decreased by 20.73%. United States saw a decline of 1.22% in iron and steel consumption over the past 13 years. Furthermore, it has shown a negative average annual growth rate of 0.01 percent during the five years with a marginal overall growth since the start of time series. It averaged 920.38 thousand tonnes from 2002 to 2014 and it reached its all-time high of 1 240 thousand tonnes in 2012 and record low of 804 thousand tonnes in 2009.
