No. 2 and all other bundles consumption of purchased and home scrap at manufacturers of pig iron and raw steel and castings in United States declines in 2014

U.S. Geological Survey reported that iron and steel consumption diminished by 9.56% compared to 2013. The variable fell from 983 thousand tonnes in 2013 to 889 thousand tonnes prior year, as it follows the tendency of the previous year when it dropped by 20.73%. United States saw a decrease of 1.22% in iron and steel consumption during the last 13 years. Furthermore, it has attained a negative average annual growth rate of 0.01% over the last five years with a marginal overall growth since the 2002. It averaged 920.38 thousand tonnes from 2002 to 2014 and it attained its all-time high of 1 240 thousand tonnes in 2012 and record low of 804 thousand tonnes in 2009.
