Stainless steel scrap consumption in United States grows in 2017

According to updated numbers issued by U.S. Geological Survey, chromium consumption grew negligibly by 4.92 percent compared with the prior year. It reached its 20-year peak as the indicator hardly rose from 1 524 989 metric ton to 1 599 977 metric ton, as it follows the tendency of the previous year when it climbed by 5.17%. The overall changes for the prior 20 years attained a rise of 53.84%. As well as it has had the compound annual growth rate of 0.04 percent over the last 5 years with a modest overall raise since the 1998. It averaged 1 357 248.3 metric ton from 1998 to 2017 and it hit its minimum of 1 040 000 metric ton in 1998.
