According to data announced by European Commission, compared to the year before flax yarn export decreased by 14.84%. The indicator went down from 9 651 920 Euro to 8 219 320 Euro, as it follows the tendency of the previous year when it fell by 13.47 percent. It reached its 17-year low. France saw a decrease of 75.45% in flax yarn export over the past 17 years. Furthermore, it has shown a fall at a 0.1 percent compound average annual growth rate over the last 5 years with a negligible overall decline since the 2001. It averaged 22 143 067.76 Euro from 2001 to 2017 and it hit its maximum of 42 903 840 Euro in 2002.
