Stainless steel scrap imports in United States falls in 2015

According to figures issued by U.S. Geological Survey, compared with the prior year chromium import strongly fell by 41.64 percent. Chromium import went down greatly by 137 000 metric ton, versus the prior year when it increased by 45.58%. United States saw a rise of 235.66% in chromium import over the past 18 years. Furthermore, it has had a 0.03 percent CAGR during the last five years with a slight overall raise since the start of observations. It averaged 137 666.67 metric ton from 1998 to 2015 and it reached its all-time high of 329 000 metric ton in 2014 and record low of 42 300 metric ton in 2001.
