Stainless steel scrap imports in United States: Drop in 2015

U.S. Geological Survey reported that in 2015 chromium import strongly decreased by 41.64%. Chromium import fell greatly from 329 000 metric ton to 192 000 metric ton, in contrast to the previous year when it increased by 45.58 percent. United States saw a rise of 235.66% in chromium import during the last 18 years. Likewise, it has had a 0.03 percent CAGR over the last five years with a negligible overall increase since the start of time series. It averaged 137 666.67 metric ton from 1998 to 2015 and it hit its all-time high of 329 000 metric ton in 2014 and record low of 42 300 metric ton in 2001.
