Asbestos consumption in Colombia declines in 2014

The indicator went down strongly by 45.33% in comparison to the previous year, adjusted statistics from U.S. Geological Survey reveal. The variable sharply diminished by 6 800 metric ton, as it follows the tendency of the prior year when it fell by 40.48 percent. Colombia saw a raise of 12.33% in asbestos consumption during the last 7 years. Still it has shown a fall at a 0.08 percent compound annual growth rate during the five years with a marginal overall growth since the start of observations. It averaged 13 792.86 metric ton from 2008 to 2014 and it hit its all-time high of 25 200 metric ton in 2012 and record low of 7 300 metric ton in 2008.
