Import of porphyry, basalt and quartzites to Romania rises in 2017

Building stone import climbed greatly by 239.56 percent in comparison to one year earlier, according to figures presented by European Commission. The indicator went up sharply from 1 352 400 kilogram to 4 592 200 kilogram, compared to the previous year when it fell by 82.23 percent. Romania saw a decrease of 46.66% in building stone import over the past 10 years. Furthermore, it has attained a decline at a 0.29% compound average annual growth rate over the 5 years with a negligible overall drop since the start of time series. It averaged 8 532 360 kilogram from 2008 to 2017 and it reached its all-time high of 26 022 200 kilogram in 2013 and record low of 1 352 400 kilogram in 2016.
