Re-import of printed plain weave cotton containing more than 85% by weight of cotton weighing 100-200 g/m2 to Canada rises in 2017

Compared with 2016 cotton import rose strongly by 155.34%, according to updated numbers published by United Nations Statistical Office. Cotton import sharply grew from 483 US Dollar in 2016 to 1 233.31 US Dollar prior year, as it follows the tendency of the previous year when it went up by 1 241.67%. The overall changes for the prior 18 years attained a drop of 88.09%. Moreover, it has attained a decline at a 0.54 percent average annual growth rate over the last 5 years with a marginal overall growth since the start of time series. It averaged 13 338.74 US Dollar from 2000 to 2017 and it reached its all-time high of 57 219 US Dollar in 2013 and record low of 36 US Dollar in 2015.
