Import of parts and accessories for string musical instruments to Sri Lanka: Increase in 2017

Music instruments import greatly grew by 554.96% in 2017, according to revised numbers released by United Nations Statistical Office. Music instruments import rose sharply by 5 549.64 kilogram, contrarily to the prior year when it fell by 70.07 percent. Sri Lanka saw a growth of 77.26% in music instruments import over the past 19 years. Though, it has had a negative compound annual growth rate of 0.05 percent over the last five years with a marginal overall decrease since the start of time series. It averaged 5 016.67 kilogram from 1999 to 2017 and it hit its all-time high of 22 001 kilogram in 2003 and record low of 1 000 kilogram in 2016.
