Export of spectrometers, spectrophotometers using optical radiations from Malta: Decline in 2017

In comparison with the previous year the indicator strongly dropped by 94.36%, according to updated figures published by European Commission. Machine tool and equipment export fell sharply from 10 810 Euro in 2016 to 610 Euro prior year, as it follows the tendency of the previous year when it declined by 73.36 percent. Malta saw a drop of 77.49% in machine tool and equipment export over the past 15 years. Likewise, it has shown a negative compound annual growth rate of 0.49% during the five years with a modest overall decrease since the 2003. It averaged 17 374.67 Euro from 2003 to 2017 and it hit its all-time high of 70 040 Euro in 2010 and record low of 390 Euro in 2014.
