Possession of new registrations of heavy trucks in China: Drop in 2017

According to revised statistics presented by China National Statistical Office, in comparison with the prior year trucks ownership dropped by 26.87%. The indicator decreased by 16.85 ten thousand unit, in contrast to the previous year when it increased by 37.8%. China saw an increase of 145.84% in trucks ownership over the past 16 years. Still it has shown a decline at a 0.09 percent compound annual growth rate over the last five years with a modest overall rise since the start of observations. It averaged 42.15 ten thousand unit from 2002 to 2017 and it attained its all-time high of 76.96 ten thousand unit in 2010 and record low of 13.91 ten thousand unit in 2006.
