Fresh pears production in United States decreases in 2017

Compared with the year before fresh pears production dropped hardly by 4.53 percent, updated figures from U.S. Department of Agriculture display. Fresh pears production barely fell from 986.29 million pounds (mass) in 2016 to 941.64 million pounds (mass) previous year, as it follows the tendency of the prior year when it went down by 6.56 percent. The overall changes for the previous 48 years attained a rise of 137.91%. Though, it has attained a decline at a 0.04% compound annual growth rate during the five years with a marginal overall growth since the 1970. It averaged 902.4 million pounds (mass) from 1970 to 2017 and it hit its all-time high of 1 287.42 million pounds (mass) in 2011 and record low of 395.8 million pounds (mass) in 1970.
