Chromium products used in full alloy steel manufacturing, chromium content in United States drops in 2015

Compared with the prior year chromium consumption diminished greatly by 30.51 percent, new figures from U.S. Geological Survey show. The indicator strongly went down from 11 800 metric ton in 2014 to 8 200 metric ton previous year, versus the prior year when it went up by 34.7%. United States saw a drop of 20.39% in chromium consumption during the last 15 years. Moreover, it has attained a negative compound annual growth rate of 0.09 percent over the last five years with a modest overall fall since the start of observations. It averaged 11 136 metric ton from 2001 to 2015 and it attained its all-time high of 14 400 metric ton in 2008 and record low of 8 180 metric ton in 2009.
