Export of compound optical microscopes from Latvia: Decline in 2017

European Commission announced that optical equipment export sharply fell by 75.15 percent in 2017. The indicator decreased greatly from 145 700 Euro to 36 210 Euro, as it follows the tendency of the previous year when it went down by 39.58%. Latvia saw a raise of 21 200% in optical equipment export over the past 17 years. However, it has shown a decline at a 0.27 percent compound average annual growth rate during the last 5 years with a modest overall increase since the 2001. It averaged 113 085.29 Euro from 2001 to 2017 and it reached its all-time high of 348 020 Euro in 2012 and record low of 170 Euro in 2001.
