In 2016 synthetic fiber import rose greatly by 137.86 percent, refreshed statistics from United Nations Statistical Office constitute. Synthetic fiber import strongly increased from 5 885 kilogram in 2015 to 13 998 kilogram previous year, compared with the prior year when it fell by 1.08 percent. Australia saw a decrease of 75.99% in synthetic fiber import during the last 29 years. Moreover, it has shown the compound average annual growth rate of 0.17% during the five years with a marginal overall diminution since the start of time series. It averaged 44 724 kilogram from 1988 to 2016 and it reached its all-time high of 360 047 kilogram in 2000 and record low of 122 kilogram in 2007.
