Export of parts of primary cells and primary batteries from Botswana grows in 2016

Compared to 2015 battery export increased strongly by 1 300%, according to revised data issued by United Nations Statistical Office. The indicator sharply went up from 2 kilogram in 2015 to 28 kilogram previous year, contrarily to the prior year when it dropped by 99.99%. Botswana saw a decline of 99.44% in battery export over the past 17 years. Likewise, it has had a negative average annual growth rate of 0.58% during the five years with a slight overall decrease since the 2000. It averaged 8 023.59 kilogram from 2000 to 2016 and it reached its all-time high of 32 478 kilogram in 2013 and record low of 2 kilogram in 2015.
