Fuel oil demand in Brazil increases in June 2018

Fuel oil demand grew by 8.84 percent compared with the previous month, according to numbers presented by JODI Data. The indicator climbed by 158 thousand barrels, in comparison to the prior month when it declined by 33.79%. The previous year, the variable was falling by -4.36 percent and attained 2 761 thousand barrels the same month in 2017. When looking at the year-on-year situation, a -29.55% decrease can be announced between June 2017 and the same month one year later. Brazil saw a fall of 75.35% in fuel oil demand over the past 16 years. Moreover, the fuel oil demand is now below average of 4 989.4 thousand barrels with a negligible overall decline since the start of observations. It hit its all-time high of 7 889 thousand barrels in January 2002 and record low of 1 787 thousand barrels in May 2018.
