Export of packing containers, including record sleeves from Zimbabwe goes down in 2016

In comparison with one year earlier consumer goods export dropped sharply by 98.47 percent, new figures from United Nations Statistical Office reveal. The indicator greatly went down by 493 123 kilogram, contrarily to the previous year when it went up by 12 790.48 percent. Zimbabwe saw a decline of 96.13% in consumer goods export over the past 22 years. Besides, it has attained a negative compound average annual growth rate of 0.3 percent during the 5 years with a modest overall growth since the start of time series. It averaged 50 725.45 kilogram from 1995 to 2016 and it reached its all-time high of 500 795 kilogram in 2015 and record low of 78 kilogram in 2001.
