Production of glutamic acid and its salts in European Union goes down in 2016

According to statistics presented by European Commission, in comparison to one year earlier glutamic acid production strongly decreased by 40 percent. The variable greatly dropped from 200 000 000 kilogram in 2015 to 120 000 000 kilogram previous year, as it follows the tendency of the prior year when it declined by 4.76%. The overall changes for the previous 8 years reached a growth of 7 400%. Likewise, it has attained the compound average annual growth rate of 1.44% over the last five years with a slight overall increase since the start of observations. It averaged 69 458 129.38 kilogram from 2009 to 2016 and it attained its all-time high of 210 000 000 kilogram in 2014 and record low of 665 035 kilogram in 2011.
