Import of single yarn containing 85% or less by weight of artificial staple fibres to Hong Kong: Rise in 2017

In 2017 synthetic fiber import climbed by 9.06 percent, revised statistics from United Nations Statistical Office illustrate. Synthetic fiber import rose by 44 216 kilogram, compared with the previous year when it diminished by 29.41%. Hong Kong saw an increase of 170.94% in synthetic fiber import over the past 25 years. Still it has attained a negative compound average annual growth rate of 0.14% during the last five years with a negligible overall growth since the start of observations. It averaged 940 969.32 kilogram from 1993 to 2017 and it hit its all-time high of 1 585 786 kilogram in 2008 and record low of 159 333 kilogram in 1994.
