Export of rifles, sporting, hunting or target-shooting from Japan falls in 2017

According to data released by United Nations Statistical Office, compared to 2016 weapon export went down by 16.98 percent. The indicator dropped by 59 196 kilogram, contrarily to the prior year when it went up by 12.44%. Japan saw an increase of 8.17% in weapon export over the past 30 years. Besides, it has had a raise at a 0.01 percent average annual growth rate during the 5 years with a slight overall fall since the start of time series. It averaged 257 240.7 kilogram from 1988 to 2017 and it reached its all-time high of 382 232 kilogram in 1993 and record low of 139 002 kilogram in 1998.
