Cotton import increased by 28.45% in 2017, revised numbers from United Nations Statistical Office show. The variable rose by 10 096 kilogram, as it follows the tendency of the prior year when it went up by 12.65 percent. Canada saw a diminution of 81.69% in cotton import over the past 29 years. Moreover, it has attained a 0.01 percent compound annual growth rate during the five years with a modest overall decline since the 1989. It averaged 324 958.14 kilogram from 1989 to 2017 and it attained its all-time high of 787 675 kilogram in 1999 and record low of 7 057 kilogram in 2011.
