Stainless steel scrap exports in United States falls in 2017

In 2017 the variable dropped by 14.48%, according to revised statistics published by U.S. Geological Survey. Chromium export decreased from 448 999 metric ton to 383 998 metric ton, as it follows the tendency of the previous year when it went down by 12.65%. United States saw an increase of 28.86% in chromium export over the past 20 years. Still it has shown a negative average annual growth rate of 0.1% during the last five years with a marginal overall raise since the 1998. It averaged 581 899.85 metric ton from 1998 to 2017 and it reached its all-time high of 1 130 000 metric ton in 2009 and record low of 260 000 metric ton in 1999.
