Import of yarn of synthetic staple fibres packaged for retail sale to Belgium declines in 2016

According to figures issued by European Commission, in comparison with the previous year yarn import decreased by 7.84%. The indicator dropped by 58 900 kilogram, as it follows the tendency of the prior year when it fell by 9.56 percent. Belgium saw a growth of 45.7% in yarn import during the last 9 years. However, it has had a negative compound average annual growth rate of 0.01 percent during the 5 years with a slight overall rise since the start of observations. It averaged 640 833.33 kilogram from 2008 to 2016 and it reached its all-time high of 830 800 kilogram in 2014 and record low of 285 400 kilogram in 2010.
