Import of artificial body parts, aids and appliances to Mauritius climbs in 2016

According to adjusted data announced by United Nations Statistical Office, in comparison with the previous year medical device import grew sharply by 78.21%. The indicator increased greatly by 3 653 kilogram, as it follows the tendency of the prior year when it climbed by 4.73 percent. Mauritius saw an increase of 480.07% in medical device import over the past 13 years. Likewise, it has had the compound annual growth rate of 0.06% over the last 5 years with a slight overall growth since the start of time series. It averaged 6 527.31 kilogram from 2004 to 2016 and it hit its all-time high of 20 048 kilogram in 2007 and record low of 1 435 kilogram in 2004.
