Import of sheet or film non-cellular and not reinforced of flexible vinyl polymer to Sri Lanka declines in 2016

According to new numbers announced by United Nations Statistical Office, the indicator went down strongly by 34.94 percent in comparison with the prior year. Plastic import declined sharply from 5 293 265 kilogram in 2015 to 3 444 045 kilogram prior year, compared with the previous year when it went up by 15.28 percent. Sri Lanka saw a rise of 185.68% in plastic import during the last 18 years. Still it has had a drop at a 0.06 percent compound annual growth rate during the five years with a negligible overall raise since the 1999. It averaged 3 158 138.83 kilogram from 1999 to 2016 and it reached its all-time high of 5 293 265 kilogram in 2015 and record low of 1 205 567 kilogram in 1999.
