Aluminum production in Japan declines in 2017

U.S. Geological Survey reported that compared to the previous year aluminum production declined strongly by 31.45 percent. The indicator dropped sharply from 44.98 thousand tonnes in 2016 to 30.83 thousand tonnes prior year, contrarily to the previous year when it climbed by 49.92%. The overall changes for the prior 20 years reached an increase of 92.69%. Besides, it has attained a 0.01 percent compound average annual growth rate during the last 5 years with a strong overall growth since the start of observations. It averaged 26.71 thousand tonnes from 1998 to 2017 and it hit its all-time high of 59 thousand tonnes in 2008 and record low of 6 thousand tonnes in 2004.
