New vehicles registrations in Malawi goes up in 2017

According to updated data released by OICA, vehicle registration increased by 7.61 percent in comparison to the previous year. Vehicle registration went up from 1 800 in 2016 to 1 937 previous year, versus the prior year when it fell by 5.26 percent. Malawi saw a growth of 38.36% in vehicle registration during the last 13 years. Furthermore, it has had a 0.05% compound average annual growth rate over the last 5 years with a negligible overall increase since the 2005. It averaged 1 739 from 2005 to 2017 and it reached its all-time high of 2 300 in 2011 and record low of 1 400 in 2005.
