Import of dried onions to South Africa: Decrease in 2017

Onions import declined by 9.26 percent in comparison to the previous year, revised numbers from United Nations Statistical Office illustrate. The indicator dropped by 271 945.5 kilogram, in comparison with the prior year when it went up by 44.46 percent. The overall changes for the previous 18 years attained an increase of 293.57%. Moreover, it has shown a 0.06 percent compound average annual growth rate during the last five years with a slight overall raise since the 2000. It averaged 1 670 733.47 kilogram from 2000 to 2017 and it hit its all-time high of 2 937 685 kilogram in 2016 and record low of 591 414 kilogram in 2002.
