Sunflower seed oil consumption in Syria falls in 2017

According to statistics published by U.S. Department of Agriculture, compared with 2016 the indicator decreased barely by 3.7%. Sunflower seed oil consumption slightly fell by 5 thousand tonnes, as it follows the tendency of the prior year when it declined by 6.9%. Syria saw a growth of 12 900% in sunflower seed oil consumption over the past 36 years. However, it has had a negative CAGR of 0.01% over the five years with a negligible overall rise since the start of observations. It averaged 41.81 thousand tonnes from 1982 to 2017 and it hit its all-time high of 150 thousand tonnes in 2014 and record low of 1 thousand tonnes in 1984.
