Import of single cotton yarn of uncombed fibres containing more than 85% by weight of cotton, measuring per single yarn 232-192 decitex to Dominican Republic drops in 2016

According to revised statistics announced by United Nations Statistical Office, cotton import dropped strongly by 34.96 percent in comparison to the prior year. The variable declined greatly by 168 368 kilogram, in contrast to the previous year when it climbed by 3.09%. Dominican Republic saw a raise of 1 140.99% in cotton import during the last 15 years. Still it has attained a negative compound average annual growth rate of 0.04% over the last five years with a marginal overall growth since the start of time series. It averaged 661 821.8 kilogram from 2002 to 2016 and it hit its all-time high of 4 836 483 kilogram in 2010 and record low of 3 087 kilogram in 2005.
