Export of prepared or preserved sardine, brisling, sprat from Sri Lanka increases in 2017

In 2017 processed fish export climbed by 22.91 percent, updated figures from United Nations Statistical Office indicate. Processed fish export went up from 9 109 kilogram in 2016 to 11 196.1 kilogram prior year, as it follows the tendency of the previous year when it increased by 378.16 percent. The overall changes for the prior 28 years hit a decline of 38.45%. Likewise, it has shown a 0.1 percent CAGR over the 5 years with a modest overall drop since the 1990. It averaged 4 375.18 kilogram from 1990 to 2017 and it reached its all-time high of 22 865 kilogram in 2003 and record low of 153 kilogram in 2011.
