World pig iron production: Raise in 2014

Iron production grew barely by 0.85% in 2014, according to statistics published by U.S. Geological Survey. It's new all-time maximum since 1998 as the indicator went up slightly from 1 180 000 thousand tonnes to 1 190 000 thousand tonnes, as it follows the tendency of the prior year when it increased by 4.42 percent. The variable saw a 122.43% growth during the last 17 years. Furthermore, it has shown a rise at a 0.03% compound average annual growth rate over the last five years with a slight overall increase since the 1998. It averaged 845 414.58 thousand tonnes from 1998 to 2014 and it hit its minimum of 535 000 thousand tonnes in 1998.
