Import of bitumen and asphalt, asphaltites and asphaltic rocks to Sri Lanka falls in 2017

According to revised statistics published by United Nations Statistical Office, compared with the previous year bitumen import fell sharply by 90.78%. Bitumen import strongly diminished by 14 880.95 kilogram, versus the prior year when it climbed by 195.8 percent. The overall changes for the previous 28 years hit a drop of 93.47%. Likewise, it has shown a decline at a 0.59 percent compound annual growth rate during the last 5 years with a modest overall growth since the 1990. It averaged 24 612.61 kilogram from 1990 to 2017 and it attained its all-time high of 379 055 kilogram in 2008 and record low of 97 kilogram in 1994.
