Compared to the prior year flax yarn import diminished greatly by 66.72%, according to statistics published by European Commission. Flax yarn import strongly declined from 141 970 Euro to 47 250 Euro, as it follows the tendency of the previous year when it dropped by 46.74%. It reached its 14-year low. Ireland saw a diminution of 96.53% in flax yarn import over the past 14 years. Furthermore, it has shown a decrease at a 0.29 percent CAGR over the five years with a slight overall drop since the start of time series. It averaged 348 270 Euro from 2003 to 2016 and it hit its maximum of 1 363 010 Euro in 2003.
