Import of furniture parts to Malta drops in 2016

United Nations Statistical Office published that consumer goods import went down by 16.55 percent compared with the prior year. The indicator decreased by 44 190 kilogram, as it follows the tendency of the previous year when it dropped by 18.84 percent. Malta saw a fall of 35.18% in consumer goods import during the last 17 years. Besides, it has attained a negative compound annual growth rate of 0.14% during the last five years with a slight overall diminution since the 2000. It averaged 372 606.35 kilogram from 2000 to 2016 and it attained its all-time high of 701 458 kilogram in 2004 and record low of 202 963 kilogram in 2001.
