New vehicles registrations in South Africa: Increase in 2017

According to statistics presented by OICA, in 2017 the indicator increased hardly by 1.52 percent. Vehicle registration rose barely by 8 310, compared to the previous year when it diminished by 11.39%. South Africa saw a decrease of 9.99% in vehicle registration over the past 13 years. Moreover, it has shown a diminution at a 0.03 percent compound average annual growth rate over the last 5 years with a modest overall drop since the 2005. It averaged 587 817.46 from 2005 to 2017 and it attained its all-time high of 714 315 in 2006 and record low of 395 222 in 2009.
