Production of limestone flux, limestone and other calcareous stone in Italy declines in 2016

The variable diminished by 11.19 percent in comparison with the prior year, revised figures from European Commission present. Limestone production dropped by 2 465 938 thousand kilograms, in contrast to the previous year when it climbed by 29.1 percent. Italy saw a decrease of 61.11% in limestone production during the last 19 years. Moreover, it has shown a fall at a 0.06% compound annual growth rate over the last five years with a modest overall decline since the start of observations. It averaged 36 695 321.37 thousand kilograms from 1998 to 2016 and it attained its all-time high of 64 275 536 thousand kilograms in 1999 and record low of 17 075 344 thousand kilograms in 2014.
