Export of crushed or ground pepper of the genus piper from Fiji: Growth in 2016

In 2016 pepper export increased strongly by 709.38%, according to updated figures published by United Nations Statistical Office. Pepper export sharply grew from 128 kilogram in 2015 to 1 036 kilogram prior year, in contrast to the previous year when it declined by 92.55 percent. The overall changes for the prior 15 years attained a raise of 485.31%. Besides, it has had a 0.11 percent average annual growth rate over the last five years with a negligible overall growth since the start of time series. It averaged 995.8 kilogram from 2002 to 2016 and it reached its all-time high of 4 430 kilogram in 2003 and record low of 15 kilogram in 2006.
