Import of lactose and lactose syrup to Barbados declines in 2017

According to new statistics presented by United Nations Statistical Office, import of lactose and lactose syrup sharply fell by 92.66% in comparison to the year before. The indicator dropped strongly by 31 953 kilogram, contrarily to the previous year when it increased by 7 114.02 percent. The overall changes for the prior 21 years hit a decline of 99.18%. Likewise, it has had the compound average annual growth rate of 0.25 percent during the last five years with a slight overall decrease since the start of observations. It averaged 27 890.14 kilogram from 1997 to 2017 and it attained its all-time high of 309 575 kilogram in 1997 and record low of 11 kilogram in 2002.
