Export of live eels from New Zealand rises in 2017

According to statistics presented by United Nations Statistical Office, in comparison with the prior year export of live eels rose hardly by 2.1 percent. Export of live eels slightly went up from 1 310 759 US Dollar to 1 338 291.38 US Dollar, compared to the previous year when it decreased by 38.79 percent. New Zealand saw a rise of 47.85% in export of live eels during the last 29 years. However, it has shown a negative compound annual growth rate of 0.14% over the five years with a negligible overall increase since the start of time series. It averaged 1 475 364.56 US Dollar from 1989 to 2017 and it hit its all-time high of 3 853 049 US Dollar in 2011 and record low of 661 824 US Dollar in 1998.
