Chromium consumption in United States: Drop in 2015

U.S. Geological Survey reported that chromium consumption declined greatly by 35.85% compared with the prior year. The variable sharply dropped by 152 thousand tonnes, in contrast to the previous year when it increased by 37.66%. The overall changes for the prior 13 years reached a growth of 7.09%. Still it has attained a negative compound average annual growth rate of 0.05 percent during the last 5 years with a negligible overall increase since the start of observations. It averaged 289.59 thousand tonnes from 2003 to 2015 and it hit its all-time high of 424 thousand tonnes in 2014 and record low of 165 thousand tonnes in 2009.
