Import of petroleum bitumen to Uganda declines in 2016

United Nations Statistical Office published that petroleum bitumen import greatly fell by 70.65 percent compared with the prior year. Petroleum bitumen import decreased strongly from 20 604 704 kilogram to 6 048 304 kilogram, in contrast to the prior year when it climbed by 265.88%. Uganda saw an increase of 7.57% in petroleum bitumen import over the past 23 years. Besides, it has attained a growth at a 0.01% average annual growth rate during the last five years with a negligible overall rise since the 1994. It averaged 4 347 976.57 kilogram from 1994 to 2016 and it reached its all-time high of 20 604 704 kilogram in 2015 and record low of 657 885 kilogram in 2000.
