Import of base metals or silver clad with gold to Iceland: Rise in 2016

The variable climbed strongly by 500 percent in comparison to the previous year, according to statistics presented by United Nations Statistical Office. The indicator sharply rose by 10 kilogram, compared with the prior year when it went down by 88.89 percent. The overall changes for the previous 29 years reached a growth of 20%. However, it has shown a decline at a 0.38% compound annual growth rate over the 5 years with a slight overall decrease since the start of observations. It averaged 120.14 kilogram from 1988 to 2016 and it hit its all-time high of 1 313 kilogram in 2002 and record low of 2 kilogram in 2015.
