Main Mobile Services Indicators

  • Mobile Subscribers

    Subscriptions to a public mobile telephone service providing access to Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) using cellular technology, including number of pre-paid SIM cards active during the past three months. This includes both analogue and digital cellular systems (IMT-2000, 3G, 4G), but excludes mobile broadband subscriptions via data cards or USB modems.   • Mobile Revenue

    Revenues from the provision of mobile cellular communications services including all voice and data (narrowband and broadband) services. Based on: International Telecommunication Union.

  • Mobile Call Volume

    Volume of mobile voice calls, usually expressed in number of calls or number of completed minutes. It includes calls made my mobile subscribers to fixed telephones and mobile phones. Based: International Telecommunication Union.

  • Mobile Messaging Volume

    Number of mobile messages sent, both to national and international destinations, usually expressed in million or billion messages. This should exclude messages sent by computers to mobile or vice versa. Based on: International Telecommunication Union.

    Volume of data transiting through mobile networks.

  • Mobile Coverage

    Mobile cellular coverage of population in percent. This indicator measures the percentage of inhabitants that are within range of a mobile cellular signal, irrespective of wether or not they are subscribers.   • Mobile ARPU

    Average Revenue per User of Mobile services (voice and data) by company or by country, on a monthly basis.
